TriAlpha comprises a focused team of diverse, experienced and qualified individuals, the majority of whom have been together since the company’s inception in 2006.

Executive

Chief Executive Officer
CA(SA), BComm (Acc), Hdip Accounting
Prudence is a chartered accountant with over 18 years’ working experience in corporate finance, business development, private equity, financial reporting and stakeholder management in the financial services and mining sectors. She was previously chief executive officer and interim finance director of Mahube Infrastructure Limited (previously Gaia Infrastructure Capital Limited), an infrastructure investment holding company listed on the Main Board of the JSE Limited with operational renewable energy assets. Her previous roles include Executive head: Corporate Finance and Investor Relations at Atlatsa Resources Corporation, a company that had a primary listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange and secondary Listings on the JSE Limited and NYSE MKT.

External board positions: Independent Non-Executive Director at DRDGOLD Limited; Growthpoint Properties Limited; and Telkom SA SOC Limited.

Theron founded TriAlpha in 2006 after having worked in London since 1999 for TriAlpha Investment Advisors, a UK boutique asset manager upon which he based the business model of TriAlpha. Theron is a qualified actuary. He has been pivotal in creating the investment philosophy that has delivered consistent results for clients over the past 15 years. As Chairman he drives the strategic decision-making of the firm and provides key input and experience to the Investment Committee.

Jared joined TriAlpha from Sanlam Investment Management and brought with him extensive experience in the Listed and Unlisted Credit space. Unlisted Credit (also referred to as Structured Credit) as an investment category has proven to be an important alternative alpha generator and return diversifier for our clients. Jared assists the invest team with Credit due diligence exercises, manager research and process development – all with a responsible investment focus.

His previous tenure as Credit Portfolio Manager with Sanlam saw him practically applying his technical skills through the full life cycle of debt origination, model development, risk analysis, monitoring and review.

Investment Analyst
B.Com (Financial Accounting), PGDip (Development Finance)
Nomonde joined TriAlpha from the Maitland Group where she gained many years of investment-related experience, culminating in her role as Team Leader in the Specialist Fixed Income and Hedge Fund Accounting unit. Before her tenure at Maitland, Nomonde worked in various financial roles in the auditing, education and retail professions.

She lists reading, travel and exercise as her personal interests.

Operations

Office Manager
Melissa joined the TriAlpha team from the Higher Education Sector, bringing with her 19 years’ experience of strong administrative skills, predominantly having focused on Finance, Human Resources, Office and Logistics Administration.  Melissa is jointly responsible for assisting with B-BBEE, Human Resources Matters, Finance as well as the Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery, amongst an array of other Office Management responsibilities. She is currently pursuing her qualification in Management Accounting, which she will use to add further value to the TriAlpha Team.
